Gail Maraman, Contemporary Textiles and Wearables

Gail Maraman’s interest in fiber art began when she first started caring for a small flock of sheep. She quickly became fascinated with dyeing and transforming her sheep’s wool into practical, and sometimes whimsical, felt designs. She has studied numerous felting techniques, including traditional wet felting, needle felting, and Nuno felting, as well as techniques for using both natural and synthetic dyes with natural fibers. Gail has shown her beautiful wearable designs and taught fun classes at Sunbear for about 10 years.
