Drawing is the basis for MANY art forms, and no matter what your favorite, it is good practice to DRAW! This series is designed to be a thorough overview of drawing techniques and materials, as well as a review of basic art elements. We’ll move from work with still objects to work with live models, while experiencing various drawing materials. More advanced exercises will be incorporated for participants who are more experienced or who have previously taken the series. Outside assignments will be recommended and all work will be evaluated.

About Meredith: A Fine Arts graduate of Otterbein University, Meredith has been a full time artist since 1996. She studied Pre-Columbian art and architecture in Mexico and New Mexico and her work is influenced by the strong design and color of these cultural areas. She works primarily in pastel, oil pastels and oils, as well as experimental drawing mediums and is intensely committed to drawing and design. Martin’s work has been show and sold in juried exhibits throughout major cities in the United States, including St. Louis, Atlanta, Providence, Cleveland, Phoenix, Pittsburg, Lansing, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Akron and in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio. Much of her work reflects her interest in the West. Meredith has a Master’s degree in Adult Education and has been teaching drawing and painting for over 17 years. She is the founder of Sunbear Studios and Gallery.
